Posting this is bitter-sweet. Sweet, because Pars completely deserves a 5-star rating; from the food to the wait staff. Bitter because it's a hidden gem that I wish I could keep to myself ;-) My Wife and I regularly drive by the restaurant and it never seems to have much of a crowd. But after reading some yelp reviews we had to try it out. We were one of two tables in the restaurant, at 5:30pm on a Friday. Not knowing a whole lot about Persian food, we asked a lot of questions about the menu, and the waiter was receptive and descriptive. His recommendations were excellent. The kids menu was mostly 'americanized' which is appreciated, but the kids also loved the meat from my kabob. We started with the hummus and a couple soups, clearly made from scratch, which is always a good sign. I couldn't tell you exactly what our meals were called, but they were delicious. My favorite thing of all was the Persian bread, wow! With the portions of the meal, we were able to make it a second meal the following day, as left-overs. Thank you Pars! We will be back! (As other Yelpers have commented, don't let the light crowds trick you into thinking this place isn't good. It almost happened to my family; don't let it happen to yours :-)

Amazing food, awesome kabobs and the traditional stews. It is always easy to get a table and the atmosphere is very pleasant and traditional. Their egg plant stew is amazing and the have the traditional ice cream too.

Not sure why this place isn't packed because it is really exceptional. I'm a big fan of middle eastern food but this Persian place really sets itself apart.! Attractive dining room and the food is super fresh. Upon arrival, they serve a complimentary relish plate of feta, radishes, green onions, mint and cilantro. The warm bread is thicker than pita bread and more flavorful. The entrees come with the option of a number of different salads or soups. We opted for the refreshing salad shirazi - diced cucumber, mint, onion with mint, lemon juice and olive oil. Make sure to try one of the specialty rices. They'll let you pair it with anything on the menu even though they're listed with their own protein/kebab. My favorite was the Adas Polo - saffron basmati rice with lentil, dates, carmelized onion and raisins - delicious and quite savory even with the dates and raisins. My husband preferred the slightly sweet and floral Shirin Polo - saffron basmati with slivered almonds, pistachios, orange zest, carrots and (maybe?) rose water. We ordered Soltani - a combo of one beef tenderloin kebab and one seasoned ground beef kebab, Koubiden - sort of like kafta. The Kouubiden was the favorite at the table. My daughter had a super fresh fattoush salad with marinated grilled chicken. The prices are reasonable (lunch is even a better value) and we can't wait to go back and try other dishes!

Rude manager! He wasn't even trying to listen to us! But the food was very delicious and in big portions! So the 4 stars are for the chef :)

It may be argued, in more of a legal than genetic sense, that I am 1/8 Persian. And as such, I (8/8 of me) wholly recommend Pars. They do a very good veggie gormeh sabzi, a nice bademjan, and very good Persian rice. The ice cream is a solid dessert option. Although the koubideh didn't get rave reviews, you may try your luck. The wine list is surprisingly varied and affordable. Given that there are only 2 (or so) Persian places in Metro Detroit, I'm thankful for Pars.

Great Iranian food for a great price and excellent friendly service. My chicken kabob was tender and well marinated, and the basmati rice was plentiful and tasty. Decor was beautiful and the room was spacious

The food was exceptional. I wish I have another stomach to engorge myself even further. I had the Bademjan which came with tender braised beef, eggplants and peas as well as lamb chops. Both dishes tasted really good, though there were some burnt marks on the lamb chops, it didn't affect the taste of the dish at all. The last Persian restaurant I have visited pales in comparison to Pars - Pars has better food and better staff who treat their customers with sincerity and gratitude. Based on my experience, I completely recommend this restaurant. On my next visit to Pars, I would probably try their lunch menu and try their vegan sandwiches.

As a Persian I am not only obligated to write a review for Pars but also am actually looking forward to it. The thing about Persian food is that it's not restaurant material, all recipes are best homemade and each recipe differs in each family being passed down many generations. But, if you are living in Michigan with no one that can cook these delicious and heart warming meals then Pars may just be the next best thing. So as a general rule, if you go to a Persian restaurant you should only get the many different kabobs and stay clear of stews, the reason for this is that like I mentioned before it should be homemade or else it might be really bad. So, my American friend and I ordered the two appetizers mirza-ghasemi and kashke-bademjoon (two of my favorite Persian dishes), accompanied by the Soltani kabob with saffron rice. The food first of all was plenty leaving us with food to take home. The mirza-ghasemi was a little dry to my liking but the kashke bademjoon and Soltani kabob was cooked to perfection and had me thinking about it days later. They also brought noon-panir and sabzi to the table (traditional persian side of bread, feta cheese and raw vegetables). The service was also amazing, our server was very helpful and extremely nice. Overall I had a pleasant experience here, and once the cravings kick in again I'm pretty sure I'll find my way back.

I came here with my family for lunch and it wasn't that crowded yet. The atmosphere is classy and the wait staff is very courteous and friendly. I had the chicken kebab which was ok ( basic grilled chicken) but the reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is because the dish my mom got (can't remember the name but it's made with ground chicken breast) was amazing. The chicken was very tender and flavorful. The side of grilled vegetables is really nice and the chicken isn't that greasy. I would definitely recommend trying this place with family for a nice night out for dinner.

The food was simple but seemed to have been cooked with care. The helpings were large, in contrast to many other places that have been reducing portion sizes ever since the great-recession. For those who're unfamiliar with Persian food, much of it is like other middle-eastern fare. In addition, meat and lentils curried together seems distinctively Persian. One thing I'd change: add more salt.

Got invited to a party of around 15 here, and I returned home with a full stomach and higher standards. When I got there, half of the party was there, the other half wasn't (typical Persian parties, lol). Not sure what the appetizers were, but I had the cheese and bread, which was one of the many things (the cheese was with some greens) and it was good. I was waiting for the food to arrive, and then I saw it. Love at first sight. The lamb chops, like the other reviews mentioned, were fantastic. Also had some of their chicken (shared with my friend Elsie) and it was top quality. Persian icecream is a must, if you don't finish your meal off with this, you're missing out.

I think they tried to make the Iranian New Year's dinner a success but the buffet didn't live up to expectations. The place was packed for dancing, it was hard to even get to the buffet line. Some of the dishes were ok but not great. Now, some might think that tat is because of "mass production", but I have great food at Indian or Asian buffets, so that alone doesn't explain it.

The food and service were both very nice. The cherry rice and the salmon were exceptional. We hope this place gets busy and stays open this time.

Thank you so much for reopening! The best Persian food and you get the ambiance unlike Rami! Best koobideh and soup! They are accommodating and honestly the best owners! Try their lamb and chicken barg!

I keep saying that I want to try other restaurants, but I keep coming back--- why? Because the food is excellent and service is superb. My favourite: lamb shank stewed in tomato sauce. YUM!

Excellent ambiance and service. The food quality is great. Portion size is generous. We were under the impression its not busy when we got in as there was only a few tables occupied. By the time we left the place was nearly full. We enjoyed the chicken and beef kobedeh. Over all food quality is average, service is outstanding... Will be back.

Great persian food - the kobideh was very tasty and the meal was a very large portion for only $13.99. I will definitely be going back next time I have a craving for kabob.

This place was fabulous. Some of the best food I've ever had really. I couldn't decide what to get so the waiter gave me a tiny sample of the walnut pomegranate stew with chicken. That sauce is just mind bogglingly good. A bit sweet to eat an entire plate of, but soooo tastey. For my actual entree I got a rice and chicken dish, where the rice was flavored with saffron, pistachio and rose water among other things. It too was just so amazing, and the chicken so very tender. It came with a soup that had a flavor I can't even describe, like nothing I ever tasted, but still very good. It all comes with what appears to be fresh baked bread, with a little plate of herbs and cheese and things, and there is a sprinkler of sumac spice on the table. I got a bowl of Persian ice cream for desert, which was also tasty but I think at that point I'd just reached the flavor saturation point so I didn't quite finish it. The place was nearly empty when I went in, which is a bit sad because it is so very good, and it's a very classy establishment too with beautiful paintings on the wall and nice Persian music playing softly in the background. It would be a lovely place for a romantic date. It was nice and warm and cozy in there too, no drafts, probably the first time I've been warm enough all winter. The staff were very attentive, and seemed quite hopeful that I would like their food and to care what I thought. The prices are not cheap, but aren't outrageous either, and unless you are sharing entree you will have plenty to take home for lunch. Good for vegetarians. Not so good to a only-burgers-and-wings type person to as they probably will find it too exotic, but I loved it.

As a first-generation Persian-American, I was SO excited to hear that Pars was reopening! My husband and I stopped here for dinner on a weekday and were very impressed with the food, decor, and overall ambiance. The restaurant is beautiful, chic, and very high end. The space is HUGE - plenty of room for large parties. We started with my favorite appetizer, kashkeh bademjoon (eggplant dip) that was cooked to PERFECTION. I also ordered the aash reshteh (vegetable soup) but was sadly disappointed. This dish is pretty hit or miss at most Persian restaurants and Pars' version was lacking noodles and flavor - the texture reminded me more of a khoresht (stews served over rice) than a soup. The kebabs were DELICIOUS. The meat was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. We ordered both the chicken and kubideh (ground beef) kebabs. Make sure to upgrade to a specialty rice for a little treat - it's well worth it. I loved the albalo polo (rice with sour cherry mix) and look forward to trying their zereshk polo next time. I was sad to hear they didn't have Persian ice cream yet (pistachio ice cream made with saffron and rose water) but cut them some slack since they have been opened less than one month. I'm crossing my fingers they have it next time because it's my all time fav!

Great food and great service! We have tried multiple iranian restaurants in chicago and los angeles and the quality of food in Pars restaurant is much better than those! I recommend Barg and Koubideh kabab or Soltani (if you want to try both)! We will definitely come back!

Not realizing that the 4th of July equates to everything being closed for business, my pursuit down Orchard Lake for somewhere to order carry out became a challenge. My boyfriend was driving, so when I spotted Pars I suggested it. He was a little reluctant having not heard of it before, but as our options were limited we were basically desperate at this point and decided to give it a try. The interior is what you would expect of a typical Middle Eastern establishment - nice & inviting. The hostess greeted us and gave us a menu to review. We ordered the Hummus, Mirza Ghasemi, Salad Shirazi and the Chicken Kabab. One complaint I would have is that the menu pricing for the Salad Shirazi was $4.99, yet we were charged $6.99. When we pointed that out, not to complain about $2.00, but to see if maybe there was something wrong with the system, the hostess made it a little awkward and said she can have them change the salad if we want. That wasn't the point - I've just never been to a restaurant that lists one price, yet charges you another. It wasn't like they had additional sizes to order and even looking on the menu online it states it's $3.99, so just a point for management to address. Anyways, the food came out quickly and a really nice man thanked us several times for our order. Off we went! I wasn't expecting much, but BOY was this food amazing!! My favorite part was that the Hummus comes with breadsticks. It was really great. I think I literally ate all of them myself! I will have to check out Pars again soon!!

There were good and bad points to this restaurant. The service was good. From the moment we walked in we were seated promptly. While we were perusing the menu, the waitress brought freshly baked bread and a little tray with cheese and mint/parsley on it. The bread was very good. My husband and I placed our dinner orders for Chicken Kabob and Barg (Filet Mignon). Now, I have never had bad filet mignon in a restaurant, so I thought it was a good choice. The dinner came with choice of soup or salad. I had the salad and it came with a house dressing which is pomegranate. Husband ordered soup. I tried the dressing which came on the side and it was too sweet, so I requested oil/vinegar, and they quickly delivered that to the table. Husband said the soup was alright. I thought the salad was average. Now on to the entrees. I took one bite of the filet mignon and it was tough and dry. Oh, was I disappointed. The Barg also came with some kind of rolled ground beef and I ate some of that, but there was some kind of weird spice in it, that I did not enjoy. Now, I am used to eating different types of ethnic foods, Indian, Asian, but I did not care for this. My husband also said his chicken was not tender. Based on the reviews, I expected a wonderful dining experience. Not sure what happened.

I love this restaurant! I am a huge fan of persian cuisine, moving from California I've had trouble finding good persian. I am glad this place is here! The food is always delicious and fresh. I love the kabobs, stews, and the eggplant appetizer. My mouth is watering typing this.

My husband and I had dinner here. It was lovely. The staff is wonderful, polite, and understanding. The food is delicious and didn't take long to come. Also the free fried bread appetizer is fantastic and they're generous with it. We ordered the chicken sultani and it was more than enough for us. Even our kid shared in. Every bite was succulent and seasoned perfectly. The rice was amazing. The grilled tomato was fought over because wow it's so delicious. Also we got the chicken tenders with fries from the kids menu for our toddler. They tasted of overused frying oil. Gross even though the chicken pieces were giant. They probably don't taste like this all the time but maybe because we arrived at 9pm that they didn't want to use fresh oil? I don't know and won't be ordering them again to find out. It didn't matter since the toddler shared our meal. Restrooms were nice and clean and smelled great. There was also a baby changing pad.

Place is beautiful. I had lamb chops they where great. Service was horrible. You would think in a setting like this they would be more professional! There was the manger I think walking around with a beard touching and pulling it. Which I think is nasty in food bussiness. I hope this place makes it cause the food is great and portions are large. The beauty of the place was very on professional!!

Their service is so bad and the manager is so rude. The food used to be good but since their kitchen staff has changed recently the food was not good at all. Sooo disappointed!!!

I came to this place with my friends and could not be more satisfied. Great ambiance, and cannot compare to every other Persian restaurant in the area. It is hard to find Iranian food in Michigan, and some of the best restaurants are all the way in California. While I was in Michigan, visiting, I decided to come in here with a few of my friends, just to see what all the hype that my family mentioned was about. I came in, got seated promptly, and indulged in all of the food (very generous portions). Much better than Rumi and Shiraz Grille, and even the restaurants in California and Toronto. Would DEFINITELY come again if I ever come back to Michigan.

I was really excited to try this place because I absolutely love Persian food. However, the meal left a lot to be desired. Maybe we came on a bad day because the reviews on here are pretty high, however that was not our experience. If the owner addresses these concerns, trains the wait staff, cleans things up, and is a little more mindful in general, then I think this can be a good place. Overall impression for this visit was poor. The food was actually pretty good, minus 1 entree, however the service was horrible and the place was not clean. Cleanliness: 1/5 The bathroom for example had feces stained to the bottom of the toilet, meaning no one had checked the bathroom in a while. The place was dusty, and we had cob webs above our table. Service: 1/5 We came for lunch and we were only the 2nd table in the restaurant. Despite that, the service was incredibly slow. We were there for a total of 2 hrs. The server only checked on us once during the meal. She did not come to refill our waters, took forever to bring the food, and the dessert. How long does it take to bring out 1 scoop of ice cream? Food: 3/5 What we ordered: Hummus: tasted funny Babaganush: delicious (actually was the best part of the meal) Entrees: Koobideh kabob: very good Bademjan (an eggplant stew with lamb): it had way too much lemon and was virtually a vegetarian dish because they gave me like 2 pieces of lamb. Probably to save cost, but not cool. Zeresh Polo (a chicken kabob with barberry rice): pretty tasty Dessert: Persian ice cream: the ice cream took more than 15 minutes to come out and when it did it had freezer burn.

I just found out tonight that PARS is once again open! I cannot begin to describe how happy I am. This place is fabulous! I was a regular and when I saw that it closed several years ago, I was deeply saddened. Memories of PARS came up in conversation often. I would bring coworkers and friends here for dinner. They had never been to a place with such great service, food and belly dancers. So happy to hear PARS is back in business! You were greatly missed!

food is amazing, esp the koubideh however, the service is beyond awful expect to walk in there, for the waiter to take forever to get to you, and for waiters to screw up your orders I LOVE the manager/owner, he is a great great guy, but unless the service picks up, this Pars will close down just like the last one
